As a guide, you are responsible for the safety and well-being of our guests. Whether it be a day trip or an overnight extended day trip, making sure our guests are comfortable, having fun, and present in the experience is key. We are an outdoor education-focused company, so these trips are to be as instructional and informative as possible.
These are the trips we are looking to hire for:
4-day PCT Backpacking (Mt. Hood - Mt. Jefferson area)
4-day PCT Backpacking - Women’s trip (Mt. Hood - Mt. Jefferson area)
3-day Mt. Adams Summit
1-day Mount St. Helens Summit
Requirements:
Active WFR Certification
Face-to-face people skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Technical mountain or climbing experience needed for mountaineering trips*
*willing to train! We are an outdoor education operation after all.
Guide Duties:
Knowledge of the area of travel - Paid scouting days provided
Articulating outdoor skills to those who may not have done these activities before
Trip preparation and clean up (in conjunction with office staff)
Working autonomously in the field to make appropriate decisions to carry out the trip
Physically be fit to perform the trip
Food preparation for guests
Tent set up instruction
Camp kitchen instruction
Camp hygiene instruction
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $100.00 - $150.00 per day
