The University Police Department at the University of Alaska Anchorage is seeking applicants for its Campus Security Team. We are looking for individuals who will be dedicated to increasing the overall safety environment of campus. Team members will be non-sworn and unarmed and will help to identify and locate potential risks and hazards and increase the university community sense of security and safety.
Level 1 Recruit (Grade 77, Non-Exempt)We are seeking an individual with strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills. Recordkeeping skills. Conflict resolution and organizational skills. Ability to operate computers and specialized equipment. Ability to exercise judgment under difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
Special Conditions:Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduation or GED.
Additional Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a University owned and/or leased motor vehicle. Must successfully pass a thorough background investigation, as directed by University of Alaska Board of Regents Policy, Alaska Police Standards Council, and FBI – Criminal Justice Information Systems requirements. Must be able to provide credible testimony in a court of law.Position Details:
This is a full-time, ter-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 77, based on education and experience.
