Job Description

Overview: The Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer performs routine and emergent echocardiograms, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physician and in accordance with established guidelines and departmental policies and procedures. Services are provided at all necessary pediatric practice locations and Children?s Hospital sites, working variable shifts, weekends (as needed), and providing emergent call coverage as scheduled. The Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values and management of the division of WakeMed Children?s Pediatric Cardiology. The WakeMed Children?s Pediatric Cardiology department has state of the art equipment where the Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer performs normal and abnormal echocardiography services for the pediatric patient. Licensure: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Required - Or Registered Cardiac Sonographer Required Education: Graduate Cardiovascular Sonography Required - Or Associate's Degree Allied Health Preferred Experience: 1 Year Clinical - Pediatric Echocardiography Required 2 Years Clinical - Pediatric Echocardiography Preferred
