Job Title: Wire EDM & CNC Programmer
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wire EDM & CNC Programmer to join our customer's precision manufacturing team. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing both Wire EDM and CNC machining operations to manufacture complex components, precision tooling, and high-tolerance parts. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with wire EDM machines, CNC machine tools, CAD/CAM software, and a background in tool & die or precision machining environments.
Program, set up, and operate Wire EDM machines (e.g., Sodick, Mitsubishi, AgieCharmilles).
Develop, edit, and troubleshoot CNC milling and turning programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Create efficient tool paths and machining strategies for both wire EDM and CNC machines to ensure dimensional accuracy and optimal cycle times.
Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
Maintain precise tolerances and surface finishes per engineering requirements.
Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, indicators, optical comparators, and other precision tools.
Troubleshoot and revise programs to improve part quality, reduce cycle times, and increase tool life.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including preventive maintenance of equipment.
Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure seamless workflow and meet project deadlines.
Create and update detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and programming documentation for repeatability.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or formal apprenticeship in Machining, CNC, or Tool & Die preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in programming and operating Wire EDM and/or CNC machining centers .
Proficient in CAD/CAM software for both EDM and CNC applications.
Strong knowledge of machining principles , materials (tool steels, carbide, exotic alloys), and GD&T.
Familiarity with CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Heidenhain) is a plus.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.
