Experience Level: 7-10 years of Making Magic
Reports To: Founder and Visionary

Team: Creative

The Company

We don't talk about it - we are about it. We are a vibrant mix of people and perspectives who all believe in the power of diverse thought. We smash norms and make real connections. A proudly certified B Corp and WBENC women-owned company, we hold ourselves to top-tier standards while having a blast. Our crew includes runners, readers, snowboarders, hikers, campers, yogis, artists, foodies, anglers, travelers, photographers, and general good-time enthusiasts. We want everyone to go far and feel awesome.

The Commitment

We are committed to being a proactive, anti-racist organization. Obviouslee believes that a culture of inclusion provides the best work environment for all. Obviouslee provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identification, national origin, age, height, weight, marital status, veteran status, disability status or other legally protected class. This includes a firm policy against discrimination on any of these legally protected categories.

We will diversify. We will listen and learn. We will amplify. We will act.

About the Role

You're not just a designer—you're a disruptor in disguise. A visual strategist. A brand whisperer. You dream in Pantone, think in systems, and prototype with purpose. As our Creative Director, you won't just lead the design team—you'll ignite it. You'll architect bold visual identities, orchestrate breakthrough campaigns, and turn fragmented brand stories into goosebump-inducing experiences.

You're not afraid to color outside the lines, burn a few dusty templates, and invent new ones. You believe great design doesn't just look good—it works hard . Our clients will see you as their creative compass, their north star, and occasionally, their design therapist.

This role is equal parts visionary leadership, strategic finesse, and creative swagger. If you're ready to shake up the status quo of a top-tier marketing agency—we're saving you a seat.

What You'll Actually Be Doing (but with more flair):

  • Design with Vision, Lead with Impact
Define the future of brand expression across all touchpoints—from email and social to packaging and AR. Translate business goals into design systems that make CMOs weep with joy.
  • Creative Conductor
Direct and inspire a high-performing design team of content creators, graphic designers, motion designers, and visual storytellers. Review work, elevate ideas, and cultivate an always-curious, never-static creative culture.
  • Brand Therapist, Client Whisperer
Partner directly with clients to dig deep into their business goals and unearth the real problems design can solve. Deliver pitches, lead workshops, and make the complex beautifully simple.
  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration
Work hand-in-hand with strategists, copywriters, media gurus, and data wizards to create work that's both conceptually tight and measurably effective.
  • Innovation Wizard
Champion the use of emerging tools and tech (AI design tools, motion/3D, real-time design systems). Stay ahead of trends while inventing a few of your own.
  • Creative Quality Control
Own the visual bar for everything that leaves the building. Ensure that every deliverable is not only pixel-perfect, but brand-perfect—and optimized for the modern consumer journey.
  • Mentor & Magnet
Attract top talent, foster growth, and help shape the next generation of creative leaders. Build a culture where bold thinking is applauded, and mediocre work politely shown the door.
  • Operational Alchemy
Co-own departmental P&L, identify scalable systems, and drive profitability without sacrificing a pixel of quality. Build a sustainable design practice that can flex with ambition.

Your Superpowers

  • 7–10+ years of experience in creative leadership, preferably in agency or studio environments
  • Proven track record of leading design teams through transformative, award-winning work
  • Strong background in brand identity, and integrated marketing campaigns
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, Midjourney, and other emerging creative platforms (AI tools a must)
  • Comfortable with agile environments and iterative design thinking
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills (for clients and internal teams alike)
  • A design thinker with a strategist's brain and a technologist's curiosity
  • Can lead a brainstorm, a workshop, or a tough feedback session with equal grace

Bonus Round

  • Experience with motion, 3D, AR/VR, or immersive design
  • Knowledge of human-centered design and accessibility best practices
  • Playing a key role in new business pitches or large-scale rebrands
  • Having strong opinions about kerning, but stronger ones about results

What You'll Get

  • A seat at the table with a creative team that values experimentation, speed, and pushing boundaries.
  • The freedom to explore, test, and build wild ideas into world-class creative.
  • Access to next-gen design tools, workshops, and collaborators—both human and AI.
  • A flexible, hybrid-first work culture where output > hours.
  • A chance to shape how brands connect visually in a world where attention spans are shorter than TikToks.
  • Competitive compensation package, with salary ranging from $100,000+ (depending on the level of experience)
  • Health insurance plan with dental, vision, life, short-term, and long-term disability options
  • Retirement investment matching program
  • Unlimited paid time off, including vacation, birthdays, holidays and Summer Fridays
  • Monthly cell phone allowance
  • Work from home and flexible schedule opportunities
  • Maternity, paternity, and primary caregiver leave
  • Professional development opportunities and encouraged learning
  • Collaborative culture with virtual weekly team connects
  • Laptop and other needed technology associated with work
  • Remote office stipend to create a healthy work environment
  • Paid work travel to attend company and client-facing meetings

Final Note

This is not a “keep the lights on” gig. This is a “turn the lights up, bring the fog machine, and redefine what's possible” kind of role.

Apply now with your portfolio. Bonus points for case studies, moodboards, or a visual manifesto that shares the “why” behind your work. If you're ready to leave behind the old rules, invent new ones, and make your mark—apply now. Let's design the future, together.
