This position reports to the Regional President, Land Vehicles Americas and will work in Chicago, IL or Elkhart, IN .

About The Position

As a Director of Strategic Initiatives , you will serve as a key advisor and partner to the executive team, providing critical support in managing the organization's operations, initiatives, and overall direction. This role requires a strong background in project management and strategic planning, as well as a solid foundation in business administration, typically demonstrated through an MBA degree. The Director of Strategic Initiatives will play a pivotal role in driving key projects forward, streamlining processes, and facilitating communication and collaboration across departments.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead and oversee cross-functional projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budget constraints. Utilize project management best practices and methodologies to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Executive Support: Serve as a trusted advisor to the President and other senior leaders, offering strategic guidance and support on critical business decisions. Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for executive meetings and engagements.
  • Initiative Development: Identify and assess potential strategic initiatives, projects, and partnerships that align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership and the board on the status and impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making, measure progress, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to assess organizational performance and identify areas for improvement. Implement processes and systems to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders. Act as a liaison between different departments to facilitate communication and collaboration. Exhibit influence without authority, political skills.
  • Management: Identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact the organization's performance or reputation. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential challenges proactively.

A suitable background would be experience within an internal or external consulting group (required) – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or related field required; MBA preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management and/or strategic planning and executive support; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing portfolio of multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience in Manufacturing or Consumer Product Goods industry preferred
