  • Negotiate with opposing counsel and pro se opposing parties
  • Draft pleadings including motions for temporary orders, motions to vacate the marital home, separation agreements, pre-trial memos, and position statements for use in GAL investigations and conciliation

  • Collaborate with all members of the legal team, including the Founding Attorney, Case Manager, and other attorneys
Qualifications:
  • Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred
  • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants
  • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required
  • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
  • 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
  • MA Bar License (required)
  • RI Bar License (preferred)
  • Mediation certified (preferred)
  • At least 1-3 years litigating all aspects of family law cases
About Company: We view litigation as a last resort and encourage alternative dispute resolution methods, including attorney-assisted negotiations, mediation, and conciliation, to empower our clients to maintain control over the outcomes of their cases. We strive to minimize collateral damage to our clients, their children, and the family unit by keeping them out of the court system as much as possible. We are unapologetically pro-women and represent many survivors of coercive control and domestic abuse. To that end, the ideal candidate must also possess superior motion practice skills and be knowledgeable about and sensitive to the unique needs of this clientele. We pride ourselves on being a client-centered firm and value responsiveness, remembering the details of our clients’ cases, and transparency We value collaboration, supporting one another inside and outside of work, and maintaining a positive attitude and finding the silver lining in difficult situations.
