About the Role
We are seeking a Matrimonial & Family Law Attorney with 4 to 6 years of experience to handle complex family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support proceedings. This role involves managing high-net-worth (HNW) client cases, providing strategic legal counsel, and navigating emotionally sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have proven litigation and negotiation experience within the matrimonial and family law practice area.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in matrimonial and family law cases including divorce, custody, support, and equitable distribution
Manage high-net-worth client matters involving complex financial assets, business valuations, and prenuptial agreements
Draft and negotiate settlement agreements, motions, and legal correspondence
Prepare clients and represent them in court hearings, trials, and mediation
Conduct legal research and develop case strategies in line with client goals
Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive, high-quality legal counsel
Collaborate with financial experts, forensic accountants, and other professionals as needed
Ensure all legal documentation complies with court procedures and state laws
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing with the state bar
4 to 6 years of experience practicing matrimonial and family law
Proven courtroom and litigation experience
Strong drafting and negotiation skills
Familiarity with complex financial issues in divorce proceedings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and professionalism
Desired Qualifications
Experience handling high-net-worth divorce and custody cases
Background working with business valuations, trusts, and investment portfolios
Mediation or collaborative law training
Fluency in a second language
Strong network within the family law legal community
Experience with legal case management software and digital research tools
