The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Scope of the Position: The purpose of the internship is to increase knowledge of manufacturing control and support systems through hands-on project work in a 24/7 optical fiber manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and document requirements from customer interaction
• Develop solutions to meet key project milestones and goals
• Present findings and accomplishments to department/team members

Education and Experience Required

• Pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
• GPA of 3.0 or above
• Relevant experience a plus

Required Skills

• Programming experience in Python, Java, or equivalent .NET languages
• Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking
• Communication with customers and Collaboration with team members

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
