Job Description:

Marine Electrician

Make meaningful contributions that fuel critical outcomes for some of the most complex government, defense, and intelligence projects. Join GDIT as a Marine Electrician for a career where your growth is just as important as the mission you support.
  • Repairs installs replaces, and tests complex electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and appliances.
  • Uses hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
  • Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment.
  • Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.
  • Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and work from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced team members.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.
  • 3 years of related electrical experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a DBIDS Badge for access to Naval Bases, Naval Facilities, and private shipyards (BAE, NASSCO, etc.)
  • Must be an US Citizen.
  • Travel may be required

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.84 - $40.38. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
