Job Description

The Alaska Club is seeking temporary painters (3-4 months). The right applicant for this position will have basic knowledge of painting and a willingness to learn new skills. They must be reliable and possess great attention to detail in completing their duties. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To

  • examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
  • make on-site preparations such as covering carpet and fixtures
  • prepare walls and other surfaces for painting
  • fill cracks and holes with appropriate material
  • mix paint to prepare the right color or texture
  • paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
  • apply varnish and other finishes
  • take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
  • work independently and in a team environment

Requirements

  • experience as a painter (preferred, not required)
  • knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix, and apply them
  • solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
  • aptitude in using appropriate tools
  • good basic math skills
  • manual dexterity and balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
  • ability to take direction and follow a plan
  • work as part of team while maintaining professionalism
  • conscientious with great attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; stand and bend up to 8 hours in hot/cold and wet environments
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation

Must have the ability to communicate with co-workers and management in a professional manner and provide exceptional customer service to our members and guests as needed.
