• Call Schedule: 24-hour call,(7a–7a)8 hours of rounding daily

• Call Type: Beeper

• Call Response Time: 15 minutes for emergencies

• Callback: 8.44 weekdays, 6.49 weekends

• Patient Demographics: Pediatrics / Newborn

• Patient Volume:

-Avg 0–4 pediatric inpatients (1–2 during respiratory season)

-Avg 4–6 newborns

• Phone Consults: Yes

• Admissions: Avg 2 admissions per day

• Rounding Included: Yes

• Physician in Practice: 1 FT

• Support Staff: RT + RN response team, students/residents present

• Specialty Backup: Neonatology consult and transport support

• Case Mix:

-Newborn care,

-Pediatric admissions,

-Stabilization and transfer of critical patients
• Procedures:

-Lumbar puncture,

-Neonatal and pediatric intubation,

-Umbilical lines, neonatal resuscitation, IVIG

Rounding on inpatient peds and newborns in Family Birth Center.

• Level: II nursery, Level I nursery, ED,
• Beds in the Dept: 6-bed pediatric unit
• Duties:

-Attending Physician for Inpatient Peds and ED Consults.
-Stabilize and transfer critical patients.

• EMR: Patient Keeper (interfaces with Meditech)

• Hospital Privileges: Yes

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered

Requirements

• Active OR License

• Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatrics

• DEA

• Must have performed within last 24 months:

-Endotracheal intubation/ventilation management,

-Newborn care

-Lumbar puncture,

- Umbilical line placement

• Ability to perform IVIG

• Clean malpractice history

• Local candidates preferred
