Powder Coating Technician

Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday | OT available
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temporary

Job Summary

We’re looking for a skilled Powder Coating Technician to join our production team! In this role, you’ll be responsible for applying high-quality powder coatings to metal and aluminum parts, ensuring each product meets our standards of excellence. You’ll operate and maintain coating equipment, support team productivity, and help us deliver outstanding results to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, travelers, and TDS/SDS documents to ensure accurate coating application and quality control.

• Set up, operate, and maintain paint systems to maximize productivity and coating consistency.
• Apply various types of powder coatings to parts while meeting or exceeding quality standards.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of powder coatings; practice FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Train, guide, and monitor new painters to ensure adherence to company standards and best practices.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized; perform routine maintenance on coating equipment.
• Record and track production data, including materials used, time, quality checks, and issues encountered.
• Perform touch-ups or rework as needed to meet quality and customer requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production and quality objectives.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Previous experience in industrial painting or powder coating within a production environment.
• Knowledge of metal and aluminum coating processes and surface preparation techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify surface defects.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and motivate team members.
• Ability to learn and use production software such as JobBoss and WorkStation Driver.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and AAMA 2605 standards preferred.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing or bending for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, fumes, and temperature variations.
• Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
