What This Role Is… As a
Pulling and Staging Supervisor, the primary function of this position is to ensure proper flow and resource allocation for the Group 1 Pulling & Staging team on a daily basis. This position requires the selected individual to provide world-class service to our internal/external customers by demonstrating outstanding professionalism and integrity surrounding multiple processes on a consistent basis. This position is also responsible for Upholding all department standards and leading by example are critical aspects of this position, in addition to coaching, developing and problem-solving departmental issues for their respective team members. Your contributions will ensure the success of the Operations Department at CITY Furniture.

Reports To: Pulling and Staging Manager

Salary: $59,000
What You’ll Do… As a Pulling and Staging Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will be to:
- Problem Solving - Owns problem solving projects and accountable to improve KPIs and deliver on project deadlines. Requires critical thinking and extensive problem solving and has discretion to make process changes with manager approval as needed to achieve targeted goals. Manages direct reports to facilitate determined countermeasures.
- Auditing - Reviews processes for internal and external defects. Audits the quality of repairs in the Repair Shop. Audits Receiving processes to ensure compliance of standardized work. Audits DC Support functions and processes for safety, compliance, and sustainment. Audits the D&I point load out process and communicates any issues with Quality Assurance.
- Coaching & Development – Requires hands on subject matter expertise on product quality, processes that affect quality and voluntary & mandatory regulatory standards that pertain to furniture products in the City Furniture value stream. Coaches and develops direct reports. Conducts IDP (Individual Development Program) meetings with associates in a timely manner. Delegate responsibility for projects as assigned.
Additional duties and responsibilities as a Pulling and Staging Supervisor:
- Meetings - Prepares and meets with associates and team leaders to discuss any issues encountered during the shift. Prepares and meets with management from other groups within the warehouse to discuss issues, staffing and countermeasures. Leads Ultimate Update meetings, reviews KPI’s, and discusses planned actions to achieve goals for the day.
- Hoshin - Participates in Hoshin Goals, provides updated information on the current state, ideal state, gap, A3 progress, Hoshin progress, KPI progress and reflections over the last quarter during the Operations quarterly Hoshin review meetings. Conducts and coaches City Circles. (10%)
- Communication - Ensures team is communicating properly with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Human Resources, Accounting, Customer Care, and Operations Senior Management.
- Inventory and Reports – Reviewing end of day inventory and completes assigned tasks in regard to reports and paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. (5%)
- Miscellaneous - Involved in Associate recognition. Responds to Emails and requests as needed. Responsible for approving vacations and is accountable for the use of sick time in the department.

What’s Required… - Education & Work Experience:
- High School/GED High School Equivalent/Trade School
- At least one (1) year of warehouse experience
- Operations Team Leader experience preferred.
- Work Environment & Schedule:
- 4- 10-hour overnight shifts.
- Large non-airconditioned Distribution Center
- Physical Requirements:
- Lifting 45 lbs, working at high heights, set-up, bending, standing, walking
- Composite-toe shoes
- Technology Requirements:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.)
