Job Description and Duties

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Director, and the general supervision of the General Counsel, the incumbent provides clerical support for staff in the Salinas Regional Office. The incumbent performs a full range of less complex legal secretarial and administrative duties. The position requires the ability to exercise independence, work under pressure, and apply tact, discretion, and initiative in performing assigned duties.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) fluency in the Spanish language. If the State of California does not have a current record documenting your fluency in this language, you will be required to successfully pass an approved language fluency test prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) a(n) TYPING Certificate. You will be required to provide a copy of your certificate prior to being hired.

1. Understanding of and/or experience with issues impacting low-wage immigrant workers such as farmworkers, and the agricultural community
2. Knowledge and understanding of the judicial process
3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
4. Ability to prepare correspondence independently
5. Ability to communicate effectively
