Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

The Amazon Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Infrastructure Physical Security team is responsible for protecting people, assets, and critical services at Ground Gateway Terminal sites across the globe. We leverage security technologies, comprehensive risk management programs, and robust operational procedures to safeguard our expanding network of ground gateways that enable next-generation satellite communications.

As a Senior Manager on this team, you will play a pivotal role in building and leading a world-class security organization. At Amazon, leaders are expected to raise the bar continuously—developing talent, driving innovation, and taking full ownership of complex challenges that directly impact our mission-critical infrastructure.

Key job responsibilities

* Design and implement comprehensive physical security strategies customized to the unique regulatory, cultural, and operational requirements of each country where our infrastructure operates
* Partner with senior leadership to ensure security strategy aligns seamlessly with business objectives, growth initiatives, and long-term vision
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Amazon's internal security teams to create unified, enterprise-wide security postures

Operational Excellence

* Manage multiple concurrent projects and initiatives while effectively influencing stakeholders, negotiating with vendors, and coordinating with internal and external partners
* Articulate complex security visions, detailed roadmaps, and technical solutions in compelling business terms for both team members and executive audiences
* Establish and track operational metrics that drive continuous improvement and demonstrate program effectiveness
* Identify emerging risks and opportunities, developing proactive measures and strategic approaches to physical security challenges

Team Development

* Cultivate a culture of operational excellence through data-driven decision making and continuous learning
* Mentor team members and create clear career progression pathways that enable them to take on increasing levels of responsibility
* Foster an environment where innovation thrives and team members feel empowered to solve complex problems

About the team
Join a team at the forefront of space-based communications infrastructure, where your work directly enables Amazon's ambitious satellite initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to solve unprecedented security challenges at global scale while working with technology and world-class talent.
