Leads end-to-end internal and external communication strategies for the firm's largest, most complex strategic efforts and reputational needs. An individual in this role is responsible for leading the development of business segment enterprise communications, coaching others to ensure message and communication strategy alignment, partnering with senior firm leaders to develop and execute proactive communication strategies, thought leadership strategies, awards and rankings opportunities, crisis management response strategies and more. This role may have matrix leadership responsibilities and responsibilities for the External Affairs division. + 10 or more years of communications, PR, journalism or marketing experience + 2-7 years of experience leading or coaching others + High degree of personal initiative, seasoned judgment, outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. + Demonstrated ability to grow the firm's impact, make effective decisions and deliver the right outcomes. + Experience translating stakeholder needs into communication strategies and experiences + Ability to make highly complex issues easily understood to key stakeholders including internal audiences, clients, prospective clients and the media. + Demonstrated success navigating complex, dynamic environments with changing priorities and deadlines, ability to work in a team-based or matrix environment. + Effective at building strong relationships to influence and gain consensus at all levels, including senior level executives. + Deep understanding of emerging communications technology and social media platforms as well as an understanding of the local and national media landscape. + Deep understanding of what constitutes news and knowledge of how the media work.
