Description We are looking for a motivated Tax Staff member to join our team in San Luis Obispo California. In this role, you will assist with tax preparation, compliance, and analysis for a broad range of clients, including individuals and businesses. Responsibilities: - Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. - Ensure timely and accurate compliance with tax regulations and filing deadlines. - Review and analyze client data to identify potential tax issues and opportunities. - Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation and provide updates on filing statuses. - Assist in resolving basic tax-related inquiries and issues, delivering exceptional client service. - Participate in training sessions to stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations. - Gain hands-on experience with diverse tax situations to enhance technical expertise. - Utilize accounting tools such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to streamline tax preparation processes. - Work closely with senior tax professionals to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all tax filings. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; progress toward or completion of a CPA certification is preferred. - Proficiency in tax software and accounting tools, including QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. - Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines, especially during peak tax periods. - Basic understanding of accounting principles and federal, state, and local tax regulations. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. - Internship or academic experience in taxation is advantageous. - Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills in a collaborative environment.
