TRADE COMPLIANCE DUTY OPTIMIZATION MANAGER TCR4472

HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Trade Compliance Duty Optimization Manager will oversee the global duty spend and cost mitigation programs across all business units for a large multi-national, matrix company, while ensuring compliance with customs regulations.  This is a hybrid position for candidates in the Charlotte, NC or Elmira, NY area.

EXPECTATIONS

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and implement duty savings initiatives
• Manage duty drawback claims with external partners from submission to recovery
• Maintain detailed level reports and records to track duty savings performance
• Evaluate duty savings opportunities through tariff engineering, sourcing, and valuation
• Monitor changes in trade regulations to understand impact to duty spend or avoidance
• Ability to communicate complex trade regulations to various levels of stakeholders
• Work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions in ambiguous situations

ESSENTIALS

• In-depth knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations including HTS, Country of Origin, & valuation
• Solid understanding of FTA, Duty Drawback, and other duty savings programs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
• Customs Broker’s License required
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 8+ years’ Trade Compliance experience
• SAP GTS Experience preferred
