Summary The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for conducting neurovascular and other sonographic exams on patients under the direct orders of a physician. The Technician is accountable at all times for patient safety.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. - Responsible for knowing Ultrasound Technician scope of practice and working within it, accountable at all times to an attending physician
- Prepares exam rooms and patients for ultrasound examinations; maintains ultrasound equipment and machinery; notifies supervisor immediately of equipment defects
- Prepares for the exam by performing an adequate time-out period, verifying that the procedure to be performed will be performed on the correct patient for the correct study
Preferred Education and Experience - Vascular Ultrasound technician education or other related education either in progress or completed
- TCD experience preferred
- RVT preferred
- Healthcare experience required

- Strong knowledge of computer-based systems such as Excel, Word, and the Internet with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
