The Department of Business Administration and Accounting at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor
or a non-tenure track professor-of-practice appointment starting in August 2026. We seek candidates with the ability to teach a wide variety of sport management courses. An earned doctorate in sport management is required for a tenure-track appointment; appropriate master’s degrees will be considered for non-tenure-track professor-of-practice. Preference given to those with significant teaching experience. Specific teaching assignments will include a core Sport Management course and various electives within the field, depending on background and qualifications, and possibly general education courses, including First-Year Seminars. Teaching load will average 20 semester credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and all faculty members teach during the College’s distinctive four-week January Term. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching. Tenure-track faculty are expected to actively engage in scholarly or creative activities. Committee service, including campus wide and departmental governance, and academic advising are expected for re-appointment, tenure, and promotion.
