Job Title: Assisted Living Caregiver Reports To: Wellness Director / Executive Director Position Summary:The Assisted Living Caregiver is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care and support to residents in an assisted living community. This position ensures residents’ safety, dignity, and well-being by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), promoting independence, and fostering a supportive home-like environment. Key Responsibilities: * Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and feeding as needed. * Support residents with medication reminders and documentation per community policies and state regulations. * Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or cognitive condition to the Wellness Director or appropriate supervisor. * Assist residents with meals, encouraging proper nutrition and hydration. * Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents. * Build positive, trusting relationships with residents, families, and fellow team members. * Participate in care plan meetings and follow individualized service plans for each resident. * Engage residents in meaningful daily activities and encourage socialization to promote overall well-being. * Respond promptly and appropriately to resident needs, including emergencies. * Adhere to all community policies, procedures, and state regulations regarding resident care and documentation. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Previous experience in caregiving, assisted living, or healthcare preferred. * Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Personal Care Aide (PCA) certification preferred but not always required. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. * Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting older adults with dignity and respect. * Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as needed. * Must pass background check, drug screening, and meet state-specific training requirements. Work Environment: * Assisted living community setting. * May require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. * Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting with mobility.
