Job Description

TRAXX is a premium transportation and logistics company serving interregional communities locally and abroad.  TRAXX America is seeking a  Diesel Mechanic  to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability and safety of our  motor coaches and shuttle buses  by conducting preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. If you are a skilled mechanic with expertise in heavy-duty vehicles and a passion for safety and service excellence, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on motor coaches and shuttle buses.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems to meet DOT regulations and manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct regular yard inspections to assess vehicle conditions and address reported defects.
• Monitor and schedule inspections based on maintenance schedules.
• Create, issue, track, and update work orders.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team and other departments to ensure efficient fleet operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic in Truck & Transport or Heavy-Duty vehicles.
• 3-5 years of heavy-duty mechanic experience or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of:

• Diesel engines, transmissions, electrical & electronic systems
• Brake systems, fuel systems, ignition & emission systems
• Drive train components, HVAC systems
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with Motor Coaches preferred; Prevost fleet experience is a significant asset.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic computers and software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Licenses & Certifications

• Certification as a Diesel Mechanic (recognized by TRAXX America) OR completion diesel mechanic apprentice program.

Special Considerations

• Must have OSHA-approved footwear.
• Must have own hand tools or be willing to acquire them.

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

Wage:        $35- $40 per hour
