Join the team that understands that caring for the pets we love starts with greater care for our veterinary teams. **What you'll do:** + Support your practice team by setting the standard for high-quality, skilled veterinary care while exemplifying our collaborative culture and delivering an outstanding experience for every pet parent. + Responsible for implementing the specified policies and procedures, applying synchronized technology, and delivering dependable and appropriate medical care within the given capabilities. + Perform Sr Veterinary Assistant skills to support practice veterinarians, including assistance with operating medical equipment (like lab, radiology, anesthesia, dental), monitoring sedated patients (non-anesthetic), running blood work and other diagnostic lab tests, and performing functions that require handling animal bodily fluids and tissues + Demonstrate team support and care for others' work experiences.  + Understand and follow the practice's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOC)  + Review invoices with clients and manage client   + Communicate clearly and respectfully with other team members, keeping veterinarians informed in real time on patient updates (in practice, at referral, and under home care)  + Be proficient using the PIMS and aid others on the team in their use of the technology.   + Act responsibly given the pharmacy holdings of the practice and maintain controlled substance logs.  + Assist practice manager with communicating on inventory needs.  + Clean workspaces after patient or patient lab sample interaction. + Participation in self-development courses and required compliance training. + Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management. + May be required to work weekends, position may require some travel. **What you'll need** : + 5+ years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in practice. + Successful completion of an accredited veterinary assistant program is preferred.  + Passionate about helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service focus. + Strong ability to connect with clients and demonstrate empathy and compassion.  + Excellent verbal / written communication, observational, and analytical skills. + Experience working in a fast-paced environment. **Physical job requirements:**   + Standing or walking up to 80% per shift. + Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. + Frequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift. + Rarely lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.  + Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.  **Chewy is an equal opportunity employer.
