Industrial Electrician
Overview:
Seeking a skilled Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems that power essential equipment and infrastructure. This role involves working on both underground and surface electrical systems in a demanding industrial environment. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who excels in hands-on electrical work and enjoys solving complex challenges in unique settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance, installation, and repair of all electrical systems, including motors, generators, transformers, and lighting.
Work with 480 VAC 3-phase motor control systems and perform diagnostics on motor-controlled devices and electrical components.
Troubleshoot, isolate, and correct electrical system malfunctions and failures.
Utilize various hand and diagnostic tools to test and repair equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work area through daily inspections and housekeeping.
Accurately complete paperwork and shift reports.
Work independently with minimal supervision and follow all safety protocols and procedures.
Report any safety hazards or production-impacting issues to management promptly.
Cross-train and assist with other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 4 years of experience as an Electrician in an industrial environment.
Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial electrical systems and components.
Familiarity with PLCs (programmable logic controllers) preferred.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
Hands-on experience with equipment such as electrical switchgear, motor starters, transformers, VFDs, relay logic, and more.
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment.
Ability to communicate clearly in English (spoken and written).
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to wear all required PPE, including steel-toed boots and safety glasses.
Able to work in varying temperatures, including outdoor environments year-round.
Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50+ lbs.
Able to climb, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, and reach as required.
Must pass a physical exam and drug screening.
