Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and strategic Materials Manager to oversee and drive excellence across all materials planning, procurement, and inventory control activities within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures the efficient movement of materials to meet production schedules and customer delivery timelines while optimizing working capital and supplier performance.

Your Role and Impact:

• Define inventory strategies that balance cost, service level, and operational requirements; establish and maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Oversee physical inventory audits and/or cycle count programs to maintain inventory accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain accuracy and structure within the ERP system, including BOMs, routings, cost records, forecasts, and planning parameters.
• Track and report on the progress of work orders and material flow, coordinating with production teams to meet delivery commitments.
• Lead collaboration with suppliers and sourcing partners to ensure reliability, competitive pricing, and performance benchmarking.
• Direct the purchase order lifecycle, ensuring timely procurement, accurate invoicing, and budget compliance.
• Partner with central planning and operations to align materials strategies with corporate KPIs for inventory turns and service fulfillment.
• Interpret demand signals from forecasts and sales pipelines to drive procurement and production alignment.
• Lead efforts toward lean materials practices, incorporating continuous improvement across all supply chain functions.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in materials or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement programs such as Lean or Kaizen.
• Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills; comfortable driving strategic initiatives as well as day-to-day execution.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, with solid understanding of inventory planning, scheduling, and costing.
• Familiarity with supply chain planning tools is advantageous.
• Team-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus and cross-functional collaboration skills.
