Job Summary

An energy technology company is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead structural analysis and new nuclear plant projects. This Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in Gas Turbine Engineering and manufacturing quality assurance and seeking to leverage expertise in Annular Hot Gas Path components (blades, nozzles, heat shields) to provide essential technical support to global supply chain partners. This is a 12 months contract.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and dispositioning hardware deviations and non-conforming material.
• Applying mechanical engineering fundamentals to solve manufacturing issues.
• Proficiency with analytical tools for defect analysis and solution delivery.
• Owning hardware redesign efforts, including revising drawings, to enhance manufacturability (DFM).
• Acting as the technical focal for qualification of new processes, changes, and second-source suppliers.
• Conducting technical reviews and performing risk assessment at the component, assembly, and system levels.
• Following and contributing to the improvement of standard work and design/manufacturing processes.
• Ensuring adherence to technical standards and maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Applying basic knowledge of gas turbine design for functionality and cost reduction.
