Summary

The Security Analyst will report to the CIRT (Cyber Incident Response Team) manager and will support GameStop’s global security program by reviewing and responding to alerts. The analyst will be responsible for addressing cases from a queue, in order of priority, and when required acting on threats to mitigate and contain malicious activity.

This is a security operations role which requires that the applicant be capable of reviewing and responding to alerts on a regularly scheduled basis. This role requires after-hours and on-call to support the 24/7 global security program. This position interacts with a manager daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Many non-routine activities will require the manager’s advanced approval.

This position sits onsite in Grapevine, TX 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and events.
  • Create, manage, and tune alerting rules in multiple platforms.
  • Communicate with business users to investigate and resolve suspicious activities.
  • Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation and incident response efforts.
  • Resolve basic issues related to area of expertise as they occur.
  • Complete training in security platforms and response processes.
  • Collaborate with team members across security, IT, and the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 1 year of hands-on experience in a related or technical field.
  • Strong analytical mindset.
  • Ability to work with diverse datasets and tools.
  • Understanding of common threat actor techniques.
  • Troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to quickly learn new technology.
  • Must work well on a highly collaborative team.
  • Communication skills and the ability to translate technical jargon into common language.

Optional Skills And Experience

  • Programming experience in Python.
  • Service desk / help desk experience.
  • System administration experience.
  • Penetration testing or red team experience.
  • Publicly available profiles demonstrating skills and participation in the wider security community (e.g. GitHub, HackTheBox).
