A leading trauma center in Stockbridge, GA is seeking a motivated and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (ACS) team. This is an exciting opportunity for both experienced providers and new graduates or early-career APPs, as we are willing to provide training for the right candidate with a strong clinical foundation and interest in trauma and surgical care.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the care of trauma and emergency general surgery patients in collaboration with attending physicians
Perform initial patient assessments, daily rounding, consults, and discharge planning
Assist with and perform procedures as credentialed (e.g., suturing, wound care, tube placement)
First assist in the operating room and participate in pre- and post-operative management
Document all patient encounters and procedures accurately in the EMR
Participate in trauma activations and resuscitations as part of a multidisciplinary team
Provide education to patients and families regarding conditions, treatment plans, and discharge care
Engage in ongoing training and professional development to build trauma/ACS competencies
Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant degree from an accredited program
Active Georgia license or eligibility to obtain prior to start
BLS and ACLS required (ATLS a plus)
New graduates welcome—willingness to train highly motivated candidates
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Interest or background in surgical/critical care preferred
