Compensation Packages

Travel Pay Package (must live 50+ miles from the district):

• $2,100–$2,250 per week (gross)
• Estimated net pay is equivalent to the take-home pay of someone salaried at $67–$72 per hour in Michigan!

Local Pay Package (for candidates living within 50 miles):

• $45–$50 per hour (W2)

What Is a Travel Contract — and Why Consider One?

If you’ve heard of Travel Nursing or Travel Therapy, travel school roles follow a similar model. As a Travel School COTA, you can take your skills on the road and support districts across Michigan or beyond. Most travel assignments align with the school calendar year (around nine months).

To qualify for the travel pay package, you must live 50 or more miles from the assigned district. This makes you eligible for tax-free stipends for housing, meals, and incidentals — significantly increasing your take-home pay.

Position Summary

Sevn Workforce Solutions is seeking enthusiastic Travel School COTAs for full-year contract roles across Michigan. You will support the delivery of school-based occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed OT, helping students succeed academically, socially, and functionally.

This travel role offers the ideal blend of purpose, professional growth, and competitive compensation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct school-based OT support services to students in grades K–12
• Implement treatment plans targeting fine motor skills, sensory regulation, motor coordination, and functional school participation
• Support adaptations and accommodations to help students access curriculum and daily routines
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
• Collaborate with OTs, teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in meetings as needed to support student programming

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Active or eligible Michigan COTA license (licensure support available if relocating)
• School-based or pediatric experience preferred
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work fully on-site in a school setting
• Willingness to travel and live 50+ miles from the district to qualify for stipends
