Job Summary

A digital innovation team supporting customer experience transformation is looking for a contract Associate User Researcher to join its User Experience/User Research (UX/UR) chapter. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to grow their user research skills through hands-on experience and mentorship. In this role, you’ll work closely with a Lead User Researcher and another contract researcher to assist with the planning, organization, and execution of tactical research activities. The focus is on enabling product, design, and business teams to make informed decisions with timely, actionable insights.

 

Job Description

  • Support the execution of user research activities, working under the guidance of senior team members
  • Assist in participant recruitment, scheduling, and preparation of research materials
  • Capture notes and observations during interviews, usability tests, and collaborative workshops
  • Help organize and structure raw research data to support analysis and future use
  • Maintain a tagging system within a research repository to enhance future AI insights and context engineering
  • Contribute to updating research documentation, journey maps, and personas
  • Assist with usability tests, surveys, and other fast-turnaround research needs
  • Ensure that research activities comply with privacy, accessibility, and ethical standards
  • Hybrid role – depending on needs, may require more than one day per week in the office. 

 

Skills Required

  • 0–2 years of experience in UX research, research operations, or a related field (internships and academic work welcome)
  • Understanding of basic research methods such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable taking notes, documenting insights, and organizing large volumes of data
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across research, design, and product teams
  • Familiar with tools such as Google Meet, Miro, Excel/Google Sheets; exposure to platforms like UserTesting or Dovetail is a plus
  • Eager to learn and grow within the field of user research
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Focused on AI initiatives.
  • Junior Researcher-type position responsible for managing collected data.
  • UX experience required

 

Education

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree;
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Degrees in Human Factors, Psychology, Technical fields, or Design are highly relevant

 

Additional Requirements

  • Shift Hours: 9AM – 5PM Eastern
  • Candidates should be able to share examples (academic or professional) that demonstrate their ability to support research activities and work collaboratively in a team environment.
