About The Role: We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help oversee daily operations at our Plainfield dispensary. The AGM plays a key leadership role in ensuring smooth, compliant, and customer-focused operations. This position supports the General Manager in driving sales performance, maintaining compliance, coaching and developing staff, and upholding a culture of accountability and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership Oversee daily dispensary operations, including opening and closing, cash handling, and facility maintenance.
Serve as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance, organization, and operational efficiency.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for both customers and employees.
Support inventory accuracy and product flow in collaboration with the Inventory Manager.
Team Leadership & Accountability Lead, train, and coach employees to meet company standards for performance, professionalism, and compliance.
Maintain attendance and performance records, addressing issues promptly and fairly.
Promote a positive, team-oriented culture focused on integrity, respect, and growth.
Partner with the General Manager on performance reviews, hiring, and disciplinary actions as needed.
Customer Experience & Sales Growth
Model and reinforce exceptional customer service at all times.
Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
Drive sales and loyalty initiatives through staff engagement, education, and upselling strategies.
Ensure every customer receives a consistent, high-quality experience.
Qualifications Minimum 1 year of cannabis retail management experience required.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
Strong knowledge of New Jersey cannabis laws and regulations.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficient in inventory management, cash handling, and sales tracking.
Experience With METRC And POS Systems Required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
